ARLINGTON – BYU defeated Oklahoma in the inaugural Cowboys Classic 14-13 in front of a sellout crowd (75,437). TCU and Oregon State opened their 2010 seasons in front of a crowd of 46,138. TCU debuted their brand-new uniforms in front of a sea of purple-clad fans. After intercepting an Andy Dalton pass, Oregon State, in only two plays, reached the end zone on 30-yard pass from Ryan Katz to James Rodgers to put the Beavers on the board first, 7-0. At the 7:19 mark of the first quarter, TCU tied the score on a keeper by Dalton from six yards out. Oregon State ran exactly three minutes off the clock in the second quarter before Katz teamed up with Jordan Bishop for 34-yard touchdown pass. TCU answered right back with one-yard walk-in by Jeremy Kerley. Ed Wesley helped the Frogs take a 21-14 lead in the half with an 8-yard touchdown carry with :49 left in the first half. It took the Beavers until 5:33 left in the third quarter to re-tie the game on a one-yard rush my Jacquizz Rodgers. TCU added another touchdown of their own before the end of the quarter. Andy Dalton again carried the ball across the goal line, this time from four yards out. With 4:14 left in the game, Ryan Katz looked away just as the ball was snapped. The ball flew over his shoulder, hitting the ground and bouncing towards the end zone. As the purple jerseys raced for it, Katz kicked it out of the back of the end zone. A penalty ensued against OSU for illegal kicking, but it was declined, and TCU was awarded the safety. The Frogs held the Beavers through the final minutes of the game to pick-up the win. Andy Dalton put up his 30th win as TCU QB, passing Sam Baugh's school record of 29 set in 1934-36. "You have to give Mike Reilly and Oregon State a lot of credit. They came in, we had a bigger crowd, not very many things in their favor. It was a great ballgame," TCU Head Coach Gary Patterson said in a post-game interview. Oregon State hosts Louisville next Saturday, and the Frogs host Tennessee Tech at 6:00 pm CST.

Aggies chop down Lumberjacks, 48-7

COLLEGE STATION – The Fightin' Aggies didn't have to fight very hard to win their home opener against the Lumberjacks of Stephen F. Austin Saturday night at Kyle Field. With 50 seconds left in the first quarter, A&M lit up the board after a 15-yard carry by Christine Michael. A&M increased their lead to 10-0 with a 32-yard field goal by Randy Bullock with 8:02 left to play in the second. Dustin Harris then turned an interception into a 38-yard touchdown run with 7:45 left on the clock in the first half. The Lumberjacks' only points of the game came with 4:24 on the clock Jeremy Moses found Corde Roberson for a 21-yard touchdown pass. A&M tacked on a 27-yard field goal with less than a minute to play to take a 20-7 lead into the half. The Aggies added three third quarter touchdowns and a lone fourth quarter score to take the easy home opener, 48-7. Christine Michael rushed for 105 yards as the Aggie defense showed marked improvement from last season. The Aggies host Florida International on Sept. 11 at 6:00 p.m.

DALLAS – The Allen Eagles and the Cedar Hill Longhorns comprised the prime-time game othe 2010 Tom Landry Classic at SMU's Gerald J. Ford Stadium Saturday. On the final play of the first quarter, quarterback Driphus Jackson found Dillion Lundell from three yards out to put the Longhorns up 6-0. Allen cut the lead in half at 8:11 in the second quarter with a 33-yard field goal. A three-yard carry by Ronnie Green, and a subsequent two-point conversion with 6:07 remaining, gave Cedar Hill a 14-3 lead. Allen answered back with a 20-yard pass from Alec Morris to Jonathan Lee to trail 14-10. Allen then gained the lead with 0:31 left with Morris found Lee again in the corner of the endzone. The Eagles went into halftime with a 17-14 advantage. Allen added a 34-yard field goal with 7:20 to play in the third. A six-yard run by Jonathan Morris at the 5:32 mark put the Eagles up 27-14. Cedar Hill put up seven final points, but it wasn't enough to overcome Allen who finished on top, 33-27. DALLAS – The early game of the 2010 Tom Landry Classic featured the Highland Park Scots and the Everman Bulldogs. Everman took the lead in the first quarter with a one-yard run by running back Cory Franklin. The missed extra point left the Scots trailing 6-0. Highland Park took the lead, 7-6, in the second quarter after quarterback Jake Howeth found wide receiver Colin Stringer for a seven-yard touchdown pass. Everman temporarily regained the lead as Johnny Demar hit James Bailey with an 87-yard touchdown pass, but the Scots fought right back and put up eight more after Howeth found Stringer and then took in the two-point conversion himself to give Highland Park a 15-12 lead at the half. The Bulldogs evened the score in the third quarter with a 20-yard field goal by Daniel Cruz . Bailey then carried the ball in from 10 yards out to put Everman up 21-15. The Scots held Everman scoreless in the final quarter of play while putting up 12 points to regain the lead and eventually capture the win. Jake Howeth carried both scores in himself, the first from five yards out and the second from three yards away. FRISCO – Pizza Hut Park held a near capacity crowd Thursday night as FC Dallas faced Inter Milan, the European Champions that need no introduction. After blocked goals from both teams, Inter took a one-goal lead in the 25th minute of play off the head of Argentine forward Milito. FCD evened the score with a little less than three minutes before the break with a header by George John. Eto'o put Inter up 2-1 in the 64th minute of play. Jeff Cunningham, who came in for Milton Rodriguez, and drew a foul in the 74th minute of play, stepped up to the spot of the foul and drilled the ball past goalkeeper Júlio César’s dive to tie the match. FCD was able to hold Inter to the 2-2 tie in the final of a three-match American tour for Inter. FCD returns to league play when they host Philadelphia Sunday at 5 p.m.

FRISCO – In front of a crowd of 11, 170, FC Dallas hosted defending MLS Cup champions Real Salt Lake Saturday night at Pizza Hut Park in Frisco. FC Dallas thrilled the crowd by bringing an end to Real Salt Lake's 10-game winning streak with a 2-0 shutout. In the 69th minute of play, Texas Brek Shea put FCD up 1-0 with his fourth goal of the year. In the 77th minute of play, Atiba Harris added the FCD's lead with his first goal since May 1. RSL was only able to hit the post twice in their first loss since April 24th. The win put FCD at six unbeaten matches and kept RSL winless at Pizza Hut Park with a record of 0-7-0. FCD faces Toronto FC next on Saturday, July 24th to be broadcast on FSSW.

ARLINGTON – Mexican soccer clubs Club America and San Luis FC met at Cowboys Stadium Saturday afternoon in a pre-season exhibition. Club America, one of the "Big 2" in Mexican soccer, faced England's Chelsea last year at Cowboys Stadium in front of crowd of over 57,000. This year's match-up brought in a little over 27,000. San Luis took a 1-0 lead in the sixth minute of play. Their second goal of the night came in the 69th minute of play, and they effectively shut out Club America with a final goal in the 83rd minute. San Luis FC is facing a possible relegation to the Mexico's second division, but the effort put forth Saturday was definitely a testament to this team's heart and determination.

OMAHA, Ne. – In a best 2-of-3 Championship Series, the Gamecocks and Bruins played a marathon Game Two. A win for South Carolina meant the National Championship, and a win for UCLA meant a deciding Game Three. With fans of both teams on the edge of their seats, the two teams battled it out for 11 innings in what would be the final game at fabled Rosenblatt Stadium in Omaha. It took five innings before the Bruins went up 1-0 on a single by Nick Gallego to left center field that scored lead-off batter Trevor Brown. South Carolina evened things up in the bottom of the eighth as a fielding error by UCLA's Dean Espy allowed pinch runner Robert Beary to cross home plate. The game remained tied through regulation. Scott Wingo drew a lead-off walk to start the bottom of the 11th inning for the Gamecocks. Wingo then advanced to second on a passed ball, putting him in scoring position. A sac bunt by Evan Marzilli moved Wingo to third. Whit Merrifield entered the box as the final batter at Rosenblatt and proceeded to drill the ball to right field, scoring Wingo, and capturing the 2010 CWS Championship title for the South Carolina. Congratulations to the Gamecocks and all of the other participating teams in this year's CWS.

OMAHA, Ne. – After ending Clemson's and TCU's 2010 seasons, the South Carolina Gamecocks and UCLA Bruins faced each other in the last CWS Championship Series at Omaha's Rosenblatt Stadium. Behind the ace glove of Pitcher Blake Cooper, the Gamecocks blazed past the Bruins. Cooper pitched eight innings before being relieved by John Taylor. He gave up only one run on three hits, and threw 89 strikes in 136 pitches. South Carolina stepped up to the plate and took a two-run after the top of the first. A lone run in the top of the second had the Bruins looking at a 3-0 deficit. Patience in the box and methodical hitting put the Gamecocks up 7-0 after the eighth inning. South Carolina looked like they were on cruise control while the Bruins struggled both offensively and defensively. The Bruins' lone run of the game came in the bottom of the ninth, but it was too little too late, with no chance of a rally. South Carolina is now one win away from the National Championship as they face UCLA tomorrow evening.

OMAHA, Ne. – The Horned Frogs' record-breaking season has come to an end, but what a season it has been! Among numerous highlights, the Frogs knocked off No. 2 Texas at Disch-Falk to make the programs' very first College World Series appearance at Rosenblatt Stadium in Omaha, Nebraska. The Frogs then shut down Florida State in the CWS opener, 8-1, putting them in the winner's bracket. After a loss to UCLA, they played Florida State again, making a stunning comeback due in great part to the talents of outstanding senior first baseman, Matt Curry, who knocked a grand slam out of the park on Wednesday. The win sent the Seminoles home and set the Frogs up to play UCLA again in a potential elimination game for TCU. The Frogs successfully battled to stay alive in that game winning 6-2 to force a second elimination game against the Bruins. With the temperature on the field well over 100 degrees and a heat advisory issued for Omaha, the Frogs and Bruins took the field to decide who would advance to the championship series and who would head home. The Frogs got things started in the bottom of the first with a solo homer to left center by Bryan Holaday to go up 1-0. The lead was short-lived and the only time the Frogs were ahead of UCLA the entire game. The Bruins exploded in the bottom half of the inning. Lead-off batter Beau Amaral took first after being hit by a pitch. A single through the right side by Nick Gallego put runners on the corners as Amaral made it all the way around to third. It was the perfect scoring opportunity for Blair Dunlap and he seized the moment with a homerun down the left field line. After walking Cody Regis, Jeff Gelalich doubled to left center grabbing an RBI in the process. A single by Dean Espy then brought home Gelalich, making it 5-1 Bruins. UCLA then added a single run in the second while TCU struggled with pitcher after pitcher trying to find an arm that could silence the Bruins' bats. After reaching on an error and advancing to second on a wild pitch, Curry was able to score a single run for the Frogs in the top of the fourth on a sac pop up by DH Joe Weik. Holaday smacked one more over the wall in left center in the top of the fifth, and then TCU was forced to watch their storybook season come to an end as the Bruins added two runs in both the sixth and seventh innings for the decisive win. The Frogs end the season tied for No. 3 in the nation with either South Carolina or Clemson. For the players returning next season, and there are quite a few, the experience of reaching Omaha, and leaving with a winning record of 3-2, will be fresh in their minds. It is these proud memories that will drive next year's team to aim for a return trip to Omaha and the all-new TD Ameritrade field that will house the CWS for the next 20+ years. So as the Frogs say so-long to Omaha, and fair-well to Rosenblatt Stadium, I, as a proud alum, say THANK YOU to the outstanding individuals that comprise the 2009-2010 TCU Baseball team. I will never forget this season and the opportunity the team gave Patrick and I to cover the Frogs in Rosenblatt's final year. T-C-U!

OMAHA, Ne. – After sending the Sooners home Thursday, the Gamecocks faced their own possible elimination Friday night when they went head to head with the Clemson Tigers. The Gamecocks played small ball with Tigers putting up single runs in the first four innings to lead 4-1 after the fourth. Another run in the top of the sixth rounded out the scoring for South Carolina. Clemson was handed their first loss forcing another match-up for elimination on Saturday at 6 p.m. 2010 marks the first all four finalists face elimination games.

TCU took a quick 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first. The Frogs extended their lead to 2-0 in the bottom of the second after a double by Aaron Schultz and a RBI single by Jerome Pena. A solo home run to left center field by Pena in the bottom of the fourth gave the Frogs some breathing room at 3-0. Chris Giovinazzo helped put UCLA on the board with one run in the top of the fifth. The Bruins put up a final run in the top of the seventh inning before TCU quieted their bats for the game. Matt Curry singled to start off the Frogs' seventh inning and a home run by Taylor Featherston brought him home and gave TCU a 5-2 lead. Bryan Holaday added his own solo homer in the bottom of the eighth to help seal the victory and force a deciding game Saturday against the Bruins at 1 p.m.

The Seminoles, who went quietly, 8-1, against TCU in the CWS opener, showed the Frogs a completely different team Wednesday night as both clubs were fighting to stay alive in Omaha. Florida State wasted no time jumping out to a 2-0 lead over the Frogs after just the bottom of the first inning with back-to-back homers by Sherman Johnson and Mike McGee. The Frogs then tied the game up in the top of the third. FSU took another two-run lead in the bottom of the third. Three runs in the bottom of the fifth put the Seminoles up 7-2, and had Frogs fans worried about the future of TCU in the 2010 CWS. The Frogs moved to a four run deficit in the top of the seventh on a solo homerun by Jerome Pena. In the top of the eighth, Matt Curry renewed everybody's hope and spirits. A single to right field by Whit Merrifield brought in the third run of the inning. Jackie Bradley Jr. then stepped up to the plate and sent the ball straight over the center field wall making it a 6-0 game. Adrian Morales got his own piece of the baseball and sent it over the fence straight down the left field line for the final two runs of the inning. The Sun Devils never recovered. Two more runs in the bottom of the third gave South Carolina a commanding 10-0 lead which they held until the top of the fifth when Arizona State was able to score two runs. The Sun Devils added two more runs in the top of the eighth, but it wasn't nearly enough to keep them from elimination. South Carolina will now face the loser of the Clemson/OU match-up.

OMAHA, Ne. – 23,345 fans filled Rosenblatt Stadium Monday night to watch two previously unbeaten teams decide who would continue to be unbeaten in the 2010 CWS. The Gators and Seminoles previously met four times in the regular season with the Noles on top 3-1 for the series. The teams didn't waste any time lighting up the scoreboard. The Gators put up a run in the top of the first and the Seminoles answered back with a solo home run by Tyler Holt to center field. OMAHA, Ne. – The storms that were predicted for Saturday settled in over Omaha Sunday afternoon just in time to put the Oklahoma/South Carolina game into a rain delay. An almost four and a half hour rain delay. The first pitch was finally thrown at 5:24 p.m. CST. The Gamecocks accomplished nothing in the top of the first, and then fell behind 1-0 when OU Catcher Tyler Ogle singled to right center bringing home Center Fielder Chris Ellison. South Carolina evened the score with a solo homerun by lead-off batter Christian Walker to left center in the top of the second. OU Shortstop Caleb Bushyhead sent his own ball over the right field wall in the bottom of the inning to allow the Sooners to regain the lead. South Carolina answered back in the top of the fourth with a solo shot to right field by Center Fielder Jackie Bradley, Jr., but the tied game was short-lived as a single by Bushyhead to right field allowed Right Fielder Cody Reine to put OU up one run, 3-2, in the bottom of the fourth. In the bottom of the eighth, OU Third Baseman Garrett Buechele homered to left field to give the Sooners a two-run lead. South Carolina tried valiantly for the comeback in the top of the ninth. Catcher Kyle Enders singled through the left side to start the hitting streak for the Gamecocks. Pinch Hitter Robert Beary then singled through the right side to put two on base. After Right Fielder Adam Matthews struck out swinging, Left Fielder Evan Marzilli drew a walk to load the bases. Third Baseman Whit Merrifield then fouled out to his counter-part Buechele for the second out of the inning. OMAHA, Ne. – The Florida Gators and UCLA Bruins met for Game Two of the CWS Saturday evening at historic Rosenblatt Stadium. Game Two began with the Bruins' lead-off batter, Niko Gallego, getting hit by a pitch. It was not a good sign for the Gators when UCLA's second batter, Beau Amaral, was also hit by a pitch to put runners at first and second. A sac by Blair Dunlap put the runners in scoring position at second and third. Gallego scored the first run of the game on a a single through the left side by Dean Espy. The UCLA pitching staff didn't start out much better as Nolan Fontana drew a lead-off walk. A single through the right side by Matt den Dekker moved Fontana to third, and a balk advanced him 90' to third, putting him in perfect scoring position. Brian Johnson's single through the left side plated Fontana, and a wild throw plated den Dekker to put the Gators up 2-1. After a scoreless second inning, the Bruins regained the lead with a three run third inning. Gallego, Amaral, and Dunlap all crossed home for a 4-2 lead. Both sides scored lone runs in the fourth inning to make it a 5-3 ball game. The Gators were held scoreless from there on out as UCLA steadily tacked up six more runs, two in the fifth inning, and one each additional inning of play. UCLA's Trevor Bauer pitched seven innings giving up three runs on six hits. OMAHA, Ne. – Florida State and TCU opened play in the 2010 College World Series in Omaha Saturday afternoon. A crowd of 23,649 filled Rosenblatt Stadium in what will be the stadium's 61st and final year to host the CWS. The 2011 CWS will be played in a brand-new stadium that will be built in downtown Omaha. FSU Center Fielder Tyler Holt started things off with a lead-off single in the top of the first. Third Baseman Sherman Johnson followed with a single to third base and advanced to second on a wild throw. He then advanced to third base on a wild throw by TCU Third Baseman Jantzen Witte that allowed Holt to score, putting the Seminoles quickly up 1-0. TCU then exploded in the bottom of the first scoring five runs. Lead-off batter Second Baseman Jerome Pena hit a solid single to left center. Catcher Bryan Holaday followed with a single through the left side. A double down the left field line by Left Fielder Jason Coats allowed Pena and Holaday to score. First Baseman Matt Curry was the first Horned Frog out of the inning when he grounded out to his counter-part, Jayce Boyd, allowing Coats to advance to third. OMAHA, Ne. – Florida State and TCU opened play in the 2010 College World Series in Omaha Saturday afternoon. A crowd of 23,649 filled Rosenblatt Stadium in what will be the stadium's 61st and final year to host the CWS. The 2011 CWS will be played in a brand-new stadium that will be built in downtown Omaha. FSU Center Fielder Tyler Holt started things off with a lead-off single in the top of the first. Third Baseman Sherman Johnson followed with a single to third base and advanced to second on a wild throw. He then advanced to third base on a wild throw by TCU Third Baseman Jantzen Witte that allowed Holt to score, putting the Seminoles quickly up 1-0. TCU then exploded in the bottom of the first scoring five runs. Lead-off batter Second Baseman Jerome Pena hit a solid single to left center. AUSTIN – The temperature was the only thing running high as TCU and Texas faced each other Sunday afternoon in Austin. The winner was headed to Omaha, and the loser would be done for the 09-10 season. With Texas looking at a possible 34th trip to Rosenblatt, the Horned Frogs turned to Sophomore pitcher Kyle Winkler sufficiently shutdown the burnt orange. After a rocky start, Winkler found his rhythm and pitched 7.2 scoreless innings before Tyler Lockwood came in for what would be the save. The Frogs took a one run lead in the bottom of the fifth inning. Shortstop Taylor Featherston knocked a lead-off double to right center and advanced to third on a throwing error. A single through the right side for Center Fielder Aaron Coats brought Featherston home. The Frogs added two more runs in the bottom of the seventh. Three TCU pitchers gave up 14 runs on 13 hits in front of a crowd of 7,315 at UT's Disch-Falk Field. The Horns started the scoring in the top of third. After walking Texas Shortstop Brandon Loy and First Baseman Tant Shepherd, Steven Maxwell hit DH Russell Moldenhauer to load the bases. A throwing error by TCU Third Baseman Jantzen Witte allowed Loy and Shepherd to score for the Horns' first two runs of the game. Third Baseman Kevin Lusson then doubled to right center field bringing in two more runs. Texas picked up a lone run in the fourth off of relief pitcher Trent Appleby to go up 5-0 before blowing the game wide open in the fifth. Seven burnt orange jersies crossed home plate in the top of the fifth. By the time Appleby was replaced by closer Greg Holle, the Frogs were looking at a 12-run deficit, nearly impossible to overcome in the four remaining innings of play. The bottom of the eighth was the only time the TCU bats came alive all afternoon. Kyle Von Tungeln tripled to right center and scored TCU's lone run of the game on a single to right by Shortstop Taylor Featherston. Texas then grabbed two additional runs off of Holle in the top of the ninth for the decisive victory. Texas starter Taylor Jungmann went 8.1 innings and allowed one run on six hits to bring his over-all record to 8-3. Steven Maxwell, now 11-2, took the loss in 3.2 innings with five runs on four hits. TCU won the pitcher's dual behind the gloves of Matt Purke, 14-0, and Tyler Lockwood. Purke sat 11 batters down and only allowed three hits by Texas in 7 2/3 innings. Lockwood grabbed his sixth save of the season allowing no hits or runs to the final four batters of the game. TCU struck first in the top of the second. First Baseman Matt Curry started the inning with a single up the middle. A single through the left side by DH Joe Weik moved Curry to second. A sacrifice by Third Baseman Jantzen Witte advanced Curry to third and Weik to second. TCU will now have another shot at Texas who advanced to the Super Regional earlier Sunday with a 4-1 victory over Rice in the Austin Regional. A well-rested TCU faced an understandably tired Baylor team who defeated Arizona in a 2 p.m. game to challenge the Frogs for the FW Regional Championship. Neither team could get anything going offensively through the first four innings. In the top of the fifth, TCU put up three runs after a triple from Shortstop Taylor Featherston down the right field line plated Brance Rivera and Jerome Pena. With the winner moving on to face TCU in the late game, both teams left everything on the field under hot and humid conditions at Lupton Stadium. Arizona went up 2-0 in the bottom of the second after a double down the left field line by Alex Mejias brought home Robert Refsnyder and Cole Frenzel. Baylor's Max Muncy started the hitting off for the Bears in the top of the third with a single to center field. After stealing second and advancing to third on a sac fly to right field by Josh Turley, Muncy came home to cut the Wildcats' lead in half. The middle innings of the game were quiet before Baylor evened the score on a wild pitch that plated Logan Vick from third. The Bears took the lead, and the victory, in the top of the eighth with two additional runs. Arizona finished with seven hits and two errors and Baylor put up six hits and one error. Lead-off hitter Brance Rivera gave the Frogs a 1-0 lead in the top of the first after a single by DH Joe Weik brought Rivera in from third. Arizona tied the game in the bottom of the second after Josh Garcia tripled to right field and then scored on a throwing error by Taylor Featherston. FORT WORTH – The Lamar Cardinals jumped out to a quick 1-0 lead in the first inning as Shortstop Aaron Buchanan scored on a fielding error by TCU Second Baseman Jerome Pena. The Frogs quickly regained control of the game in the bottom half of the first. Right Fielder Brance Rivera started things off by reaching first on a fielding error by Third Baseman Andy Mena, and then took second. After Catcher Bryan Holaday was hit by a pitch, TCU loaded the bases on a bunt by Left Fielder Jason Coats. A sac by First Baseman Matt Curry allowed Rivera to score. A triple off of the bat of Shortstop Taylor Featherston scored Holaday and Coats to put the Frogs up 3-1. TCU's next run came in the bottom of the third as Designated Hitter Joe Weik blasted the ball over the left field fence for a solo homerun. Weik then opened up the bottom of the fifth with a walk. Featherston followed with a walk of his own. A bunt by Third Baseman Jantzen Witte loaded the bases again for the Frogs. Lamar managed two runs in the top of the seventh, but it was not nearly enough to pull out a come-from-behind win. TCU tacked on a final run in the bottom of the eighth for the 16-3 victory. Lamar will play Baylor at 2 p.m. Saturday, and TCU will face Arizona in the 7 p.m. game.

Featherston followed with a walk of his own. A bunt by Third Baseman Jantzen Witte loaded the bases again for the Frogs. Center Fielder Aaron Schultz singled up the middle scoring Weik and Featherston. A sac fly by Pena to left field brought home Witte, and the final run of the inning was Schultz who came home on another fielding error by Mena. TCU left no doubt as to who would win the game in the bottom of the sixth as seven Frogs crossed home to plate to give TCU a 15-1 lead. Lamar managed two runs in the top of the seventh, but it was not nearly enough to pull out a come-from-behind win. TCU tacked on a final run in the bottom of the eighth for the 16-3 victory. Lamar will play Baylor at 2 p.m. Saturday, and TCU will face Arizona in the 7 p.m. game.

FORT WORTH – No. 2 seed Baylor faced No. 3 Arizona in the opener of the 2010 NCAA Fort Worth Regional Friday afternoon at TCU's Lupton Stadium. It was a quiet game until the bottom of the third when Baylor went up 1-0 after a solo homerun to right center by Catcher Gregg Glime. Arizona quickly took over the lead in the top of the fourth with two homeruns putting three runs on the board. Baylor regained the lead in the bottom of the fifth, 4-3. The Wildcats broke the game open in the top of the sixth with five runs to double their lead at 8-4. Arizona led 10-4 after their half of the ninth inning. The Bears did not go quietly as they racked up five runs of their own in the bottom of the ninth in a heart-breaking 10-9 loss. Baylor faces Lamar at 2 p.m. Saturday in what will be an automatic elimination for the loser of the contest.
